Watching this made me realize one of the funniest mechanisms of this series is how much Tim's character has changed and degraded over time, and how Gregg has undergone literally zero character change. He is the exact same person he was at the start of the show. The contrast between the two is hilarious.

I almost guarantee this started as a genuine discussion between the 2 and one of them was just like “which one is the wrath of khan”. Then they just decided to write it in into the show. Weird that they subverted it with Tim having the accurate Star Trek knowledge though, since Gregg is such a film head. The voyage home and wrath of khan being the best trek movies a movie expert like Gregg should know the truth.

I genuinely wonder how much of this is written vs al-libbed? I imagine both actors and writers go in with an idea and then they probably roll with it. But there's some genuinely brilliant moments both Tim and Gregg get caught off guard smirking or trying hide laughter, which suggests the other has come up with something unexpected.
    It's just cinema magic.
